Chairperson
The chairperson Mrs Penny Jayewardene along with her late husband Mr Ravi Jayewardene have contributed to welfare and service activities in Sri Lanka for over 04 decades.
Her influence is most felt in the fields of healthcare, education, and disaster relief.
B N Narasimha Murthy
Trustee
An eminent educationist, Mr B N Narasimha Murthy has served as the Warden of the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning at its Brindavan and Puttaparthi Campuses and is presently a Trustee of the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust.
He is also currently serving as the Chancellor of the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence.
C Sreenivas

Mr C Sreenivas serves as the Chairman of Sri Sathya Sai Health and Education Trust in India.
A dynamic social worker, he has been instrumental in setting up the Super Speciality Hospitals in Puttaparthi, Bangalore and the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospitals in Raipur, Delhi, Bombay, Nigeria, Fiji and Sri Lanka.

Heading Sai Prakashana; the Media and Publications sector in Muddenahali, India, is Mr Issac Tigrett.
An instrumental figure in building the first Super Speciality Hospital in Puttarparthi in 1991, he is also the Founder of Hard Rock Cafe and House of Blues in USA.
T Sutharshanom

Mr Sutharshanom has contributed to a host of welfare projects to uplift the lives of people in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka.
A native of Batticaloa, he is joined by his family in his many charitable causes.
Gary Seaton
Trustee
Mr Gary Seaton, a social entrepreneur, is currently the Chairman of G&G Group of Companies which has operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Africa, India and Australia.
Additionally, he is the Director of Energreen Nutrition & Bioenergy plantations, functions as a part of the Investment Committee of Global Clean Energy Fund and presides over a number of social and environmental organizations including Quest 2025; an environmental education trust.
Deepal Wickremasinghe

Spearheading the construction of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Super Speciality Hospital in Batticaloa, Sri Lanka, is Mr Deepal Wickremasinghe.
He is the Chairman of Ruhunu Hospital in Galle, and Managing Director of Engineering Consultancy Firm Wickremesinghe Associates.
Shamalie Gunawardena

Mrs Shamalie Gunawardena, Attorney at Law, is a Joint Managing Partner of Capital City Law-Colombo, and Senior Consultant Senior Legal Advisor at the Port City.
She was called to the Bar in 1985 and is a member of the board of several notable companies in Sri Lanka.
Aravinda De Silva

Mr Aravinda De Silva is a legendary cricketer with an international cricket career spanning over 20 years and is well known for being instrumental in winning the Cricket World Cup for Sri Lanka in 1996.
He currently serves as the Deputy Chairman of Ideal Group of Companies.
Dilrukshi Dias Wickremasinghe

Mrs Dilrukshi Dias Wickremasinghe was the former Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery and Corruption in Sri Lanka and has served as a Judge of the High Court of the Republic of Fiji.
She has also been the Chief Legal Officer of the Sri Lanka Air Force, as well as a visiting lecturer and tutor in numerous universities around the world including Monash University Australia, China University of Political Science and Law and RMIT University Australia.
Disna Lokugalappaththi

Mrs Disna Lokugalappaththi is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka ( ICASL) since 2004. She is a graduate of University of Kelaniya.
Currently, she is working as the Chief Financial Officer of Lotus Hydro Power PLC, Lotus Renewable Energy (Pvt ) Ltd and a few other companies. She has over 20 years of experience in accounting and financing in the commercial and non-commercial sectors.
Karu Jayasuriya

Patron of the Foundation, Hon. Karu Jayasuriya is a former Speaker of the Parliament in Sri Lanka.
He is responsible for the establishment of many National Service and Religious projects in the island.
Medical
Medical Centre
The Sri Sathya Sai Karunalayam Medical Centre is an OPD clinic located in Batticaloa, in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka providing consultation and treatment totally free of cost.
The patients who come to the clinic are given a nutritious hot meal and a cup of tea between the hours of 10 am – 2 pm.
As of date, over 40,000 outpatients have been treated.
Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Super Speciality Hospital
Through the donations of well-wishers from across the world, the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Super Speciality Hospital was established, in the east of the country. This hospital is located in Kirankulam, Batticaloa, boasts no cash counter, offering all of its services, from consultations to surgery, completely free of cost.
Having completed Phase 1 of the three-part construction plan, the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Super Speciality Hospital was inaugurated on 9 August 2022 by Sri Madhusudan Sai; a humanitarian and spiritual leader, who has been at the helm since the very beginning, guiding this project every step of the way. The ground floor of this hospital houses a cardiac operating theatre, an ICU unit, and a 25-bed ward, in addition to several other facilities.
The Cath Lab Facility of the Sanjeevani Hospital, the first ever Cath Lab facility within the entire Eastern Region of Sri Lanka, was inaugurated on 1 June 2023. The state-of-the-art Philips Azurion 7M12 Cath Lab was donated by the Divine Will Foundation, USA. Cath Lab procedures are done in collaboration with doctors from the Batticaloa Teaching Hospital, every Tuesday and Thursday, completely free of cost.
As of date, over 900 free cath interventions have been performed successfully.
Sanjeevani – Healed Little Hearts
As of date, 11 free paediatric cardiac surgeries have been successfully completed.
- September 2022 – 6 surgeries were carried out by a surgical team from Sanjeevani in Raipur led by Dr Ragini Pandy Thoracic Surgeon.
- November 2023 – 3 surgeries were carried out from Sanjeevani in Raipur.
- January 2024 – 2 surgeries were carried out from Sanjeevani in Raipur.
Nutrition
Since May 2020, the Karunalayam Centre staff have cooked food in our kitchen and wrapped over a hundred parcels per day. The food parcels are delivered door-to-door to the elderly, children, and differently-abled individuals in the village, three times per week.
As of date, over 73,000 meals have been provided to the needy.
INAUGURATION OF THE SRI SATHYA SAI SANJEEVANI HOSPITAL, BATTICALOA, SRI LANKA
On August 09 2022, Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai inaugurated the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital at Batticaloa, Sri Lanka to serve the unserved population of Sri Lanka, which is already undergoing difficult times. The function was presided over by the Guest of Honour – Mr Aravinda de Silva, Former Sri Lankan International Cricketer and Captain, and was attended by officials from the Government and the Diplomatic Community of Sri Lanka, members of the medical fraternity and armed forces from Sri Lanka, as well as volunteers and well-wishers from around the country and the world.

Message from the president of Sri Lanka, Mr.Ranil Wickremesinghe
About two weeks ago, I got a message from a very famous man from India, who has been very dear to me and has been one of my childhood idols…that was none other than, Mr Sunil Gavaskar. His message was a request to represent him at the inauguration of the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital at Batticaloa in Sri Lanka. Before coming here, I didn’t anticipate this kind of magnitude, effort and love that has gone into this project, and witnessing this in person is a remarkable experience; for something like this to happen within five years is indeed remarkable. Congratulations for achieving this in the last five years. Today, after having completed my childhood phase of enjoying playing cricket, as a cricketer who contributed towards the game of cricket by representing Sri Lanka, as a business man who has established his own business for the last 14 years; it is time to serve my country, and at this juncture, I find my thinking matching with the motto of this Organisation – Love All Serve All. We have enjoyed everything from this lovely nation and now it is time to give the country back, what it deserves. Thanks to everyone who has put in so much effort and time to make this hospital happen. My support and help will be there anytime.
